Surgical drainage and extraction, Chemical peeling, Microdermabrasion, Light and laser therapy are some of the physical and surgical procedures used to treat acne. This procedure is used in the following circumstances –

1. Acne is inflamed and infected. In this case the extraction is to remove the fluid in the mass.

2. Acne does not respond to topical and oral treatments.

3. Acne on the back where the drug is difficult to apply.

A common procedure is as follows –

Surgical drainage and Extraction –
